A little more ease during a busy holiday week
When family members are calling to coordinate a visit or share seasonal news, the SN5147’s 90dB ringer and visual flashing indicator can help make incoming calls easier to notice. Its oversized, high-contrast buttons and large backlit display are designed to be easier to see and use.
The phone also offers 50dB audio assist. These features may be especially helpful for someone who has trouble hearing a standard phone or reading smaller controls.
Make familiar voices easier to reach
There are four photo speed dial slots, so a loved one can pair selected contacts with photos for quick calling. That can make it simpler to reach close family during the holidays without searching through a list of names.
The call blocker can store up to 1,000 numbers, offering a way to reduce interruptions from unwanted callers during a season when people may be expecting important calls.
A corded base for continuity at home
The hybrid system includes a corded base and a cordless phone. The corded base remains functional during power outages, a useful detail for keeping a phone available when the household loses power.
Its digital answering machine holds up to 22 minutes of messages and includes slow playback. A family member can leave a message when the recipient misses a call, and the slower playback option may make listening easier.
Consider the setup and household needs
The SN5147 is a single-line system, so it may not suit a home that needs more than one phone line. Its enclosure is plastic, which may feel less durable than a metal alternative.
As a holiday gift, it is best suited to someone who would benefit from more visible controls, a louder ring and amplified audio. It is still worth considering whether the person prefers a corded phone, a cordless phone or another setup before choosing.
